The Quiet Battles
Finding Faithfulness in the Waiting:
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord! (Psalm 27:14)
Waiting on the Lord is not passive, but an active,
hopeful stance that brings spiritual strength.
There are battles that no one sees. Struggles that carry no visible scars. Prayers whispered in the stillness of the night when everyone else has gone to sleep. These are the quiet battles—the ones fought in doctors' offices, in empty nurseries, in marriages strained by unmet expectations, in the silence of wondering if God still sees you.
Dear Prudent Woman,
If you're in a quiet battle today, I want you to know: The Lord is also in the quiet battles.
What happens when we petition God with Kingdom purpose?
Our perspective shifts. The desire is no longer just about filling the empty places in our lives—it becomes about what God wants to accomplish through our lives. Hannah wanted a son, yes, but she was willing to surrender him completely to God's service. That kind of prayer changes everything.
When you're believing God for your husband, are you also asking, "Lord, how will this marriage bring glory to You?" When you're praying for restoration in your marriage, are you wondering, "God, what Kingdom purpose do You have for us together?"
Kingdom purpose prayers align our hearts with God's heart. They invite Him not just to give us what we want, but to use us for what He wants.
The Bible doesn't tell us she became bitter. It doesn't say she abandoned her worship or turned away from God in her disappointment. Instead, we see a woman who kept showing up—to the temple, to her marriage, to her life—even when her circumstances screamed that God wasn't listening.
Let us be found faithful no matter what the circumstances are.
Faithfulness in the waiting looks like:
My dear sister, He remembers you too. Your quiet tears are not wasted. Your faithful prayers are not unheard. Your silent struggles are not invisible to Him.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18).
Whether you're single and waiting, or married and warring for your marriage, God is in your quiet battle with you. He's not distant. He's not distracted. He's working even when you can't see it.
Instead, pour out your heart before Him—honestly, completely, with Kingdom purpose. Then rise from your prayer and walk in faithfulness, one day at a time.
God is writing a testimony through your life right now, in the waiting, in the quiet. One day, like Hannah, you'll sing a new song. But until then, keep worshiping. Keep believing. Keep remaining faithful.
"And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight" (1 Samuel 1:18).
Join me in Prayer:Lord, thank you that You are present in my quiet battles. When the enemy taunts me, and circumstances seem unchanged, help me to remain faithful like Hannah. Align my prayers with your Kingdom purposes. I choose to worship you today, even through my tears. I trust that you see me, you hear me, and you will remember me in your perfect timing. In Jesus' name, Amen.
When the Taunting Won't Stop
Hannah's story in 1 Samuel 1 is a mirror for so many of us. Year after year, she went to the house of the Lord carrying the weight of her barrenness. And year after year, Peninah—her husband's other wife—taunted her relentlessly. The Bible says Peninah "provoked her sorely" (1 Samuel 1:6, KJV).Just as Peninah kept on picking and probing, so does the enemy do in our lives. He whispers the same lies repeatedly: "You're not enough. God has forgotten you. Everyone else is being blessed but you. Maybe you did something wrong."
The taunting doesn't always come from others—sometimes it echoes in our own minds. Comparison taunts us through social media. Disappointment taunts us when another month passes unchanged. Fear taunts us about the future.
But here's what moves me deeply about Hannah: she kept worshiping through her pain, day by day, year by year. She remained faithful. The Power of Kingdom Purpose
When Hannah finally poured out her heart before the Lord, something remarkable happened. She didn't just ask for relief from her pain. She petitioned God with Kingdom purpose: "O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid...but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life" (1 Samuel 1:11).What happens when we petition God with Kingdom purpose?

Remaining Faithful When Nothing Changes
Here's the tension we must hold: Hannah prayed faithfully for years before she saw her answer. Years.
- ✔ Continuing to pray when you've prayed the same prayer a thousand times.
- ✔ Worshiping God even when your heart is breaking.
- ✔ Serving your husband even when he doesn't understand your pain.
- ✔ Preparing yourself even when the promise seems delayed.
- ✔ Trusting God's character when you can't see His hand.
"But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing" (James 1:4).
God Sees Your Quiet Battle
The most beautiful part of Hannah's story? God saw her. He heard her. He remembered her. "And the Lord remembered Hannah" (1 Samuel 1:19). ESVMy dear sister, He remembers you too. Your quiet tears are not wasted. Your faithful prayers are not unheard. Your silent struggles are not invisible to Him.
